DUMONT - A 911 call reporting that a man barricaded himself with weapons in a Dumont home is now said to be a hoax.

The 911 call brought the Bergen County Police Department SWAT team members, officers from various local departments and emergency medical technicians to Grant Avenue and Hillcrest Drive in the east end of Dumont.

The call was made around 1:35 p.m. today and police say the caller claimed to have killed two people. He threatened to kill others if police didn't respond immediately.

Dumont Police Chief Brian Venezio says that the caller used a cell phone routed through the internet, making it difficult to trace the number.

Nearby Grant Middle School went on lockdown briefly as a precaution due to the incident.

Police say they currently have no suspects but add that when they do find the person responsible, they will likely face jail time.
