NEPTUNE CITY - Neptune City police say that a husband and wife were tied up in their own home as three masked intruders robbed them.

One of the victims managed to call police just before 10 a.m. to report the robbery at their home on Steiner Avenue.

The victim told police that three suspects armed with knives took an undetermined amount of money from the home.

Police believe the couple was targeted because they serve as the superintendents for the apartment complex and they had just collected rent money.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is working with local authorities on the investigation.
