Police: Bus crashes on NJ Turnpike; 2 confirmed dead

EAST BRUNSWICK - Authorities say an accident involving a tour bus took place on the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near exit 9 in East Brunswick tonight, killing two people.

According to the New Jersey State Police, the driver of the bus died after being ejected through the front windshield. They say a second person died at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick and that five others are in the trauma unit there.

Officials also say the bus was a Super Luxury Tours Inc. bus, based out of Wilkes Barre, PA. An estimated 25 to 30 people were on board during the accident.

The crash closed two southbound outer lanes on the Turnpike. It comes just two days after an early morning tour bus accident in The Bronx killed 15 people on Saturday.
