Police arrest woman for leaving scene of crash

Police have arrested a woman they say is responsible for injuring a pedestrian and then leaving the scene of the crash.

NEWARK - Police have arrested a woman they say is responsible for injuring a pedestrian and then leaving the scene of the crash.

Police say a 28-year old man was struck while walking in the intersection of Bergen Street and Clinton Avenue by a Dodge Avenger.

Tiffany Carpenter, 21, was arrested and faces several charges including leaving the scene of an accident.

The victim is recovering at Rutgers University Medical Center and is in stable condition.
