Police arrest Shawn Harris in shooting that killed Jersey City boy (5/31/13)

JERSEY CITY - Authorities have made a second arrest in a robbery that claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy in Jersey City.

Hudson County prosecutors have charged 33-year-old Shawn Harris, of Irvington, with felony murder in the death of Gywan Levine Jr. on May 17.

The 12-year-old was shot while dribbling a basketball as he and his father walked along Rutgers Avenue. The boy was shot in the shoulder area, while his father was wounded in the leg. Prosecutors believe robbery was the motive.

Authorities last week also charged Harris' girlfriend, 25-year-old Janice Everett of Rahway, with felony murder.
