Police arrest man in connection with Somerset shooting

SOMERSET - Police are investigating a shooting at a Somerset party that left one person dead.

Investigators say 18-year-old Alex Ortega pulled out a gun and shot two people after a fight broke out. Ashani Wilks, 18, died on the way to the hospital. The name of the other teen, who is in critical condition, has not yet been released.

Investigators are looking into why Ortega, who was the DJ at the party, allegedly pulled a gun when the fight broke out.

Authorities say Ortega is charged with one count of murder and that they have recovered the weapon they believe was used in the shooting.
