JERSEY CITY - A man accused of sexually assaulting a Jersey City woman inside her home was arrested by police.

Authorities say that Jessie Girard was seen on surveillance cameras trying to break into several homes on Pavonia Avenue in Jersey City on Feb. 29. Girard allegedly found that the victim’s door was unlocked and walked inside the home where he reportedly sexually assaulted her.

Jersey City police released surveillance videos of the suspect to the public in the hope that he could be identified. It was because of those photos that police were able to identify Girard.

Girard’s bail was set at $500,000.
