EAST ORANGE - The mother of two young boys is under arrest after officials say one of her sons shot and killed his younger brother with a gun that belonged to her.

Itiyanah Spruill, 22, is being charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Officials say Spruill’s 6-year-old son shot his 4-year-old brother Saturday morning in their home in East Orange.

The Essex County Prosecutor stressed that there was no threat to the community.

Spruill is currently being held on $310,000 bail. She is expected to make a first court appearance on Tuesday.
