NEW BRUNSWICK - Police in New Brunswick say an early morning fire in the city has left one person dead.

The two-alarm fire broke out around 3 a.m. on the 200 block of Talmadge Avenue.

Firefighters from New Brunswick and Edison were called in to help douse the flames that tore through the two-story home.

Authorities say emergency crews found the body of a woman on the first floor of the home.

Authorities are working to determine what caused the blaze.
