Max, an 11-year-old boxer, got trapped in the frigid water of Cedar Brook Pond in Plainfield. Firefighter Jerome Yarborough suited up, rescued the dog and brought him to his owner, Jeffery Counts.

PLAINFIELD - The Plainfield Fire Department rescued a dog who was trapped in a pond on Saturday morning.

Max, an 11-year-old boxer, got trapped in the frigid water of Cedar Brook Pond in Plainfield. Firefighter Jerome Yarborough suited up, rescued the dog and brought him to his owner, Jeffery Counts.

"When they got to me, I was so happy to see that he was actually still alive and that he had made it," says Counts.

He says Max was stuck in the pond for about 30 minutes, but is doing well now.
