EATONTOWN - Authorities in Monmouth County are trying to find the person who left three pit bulls in a park just 200 yards from the SPCA Sunday.

The young female brindle-coat dogs were tied to a tree in 80 Acres Park, Chief Law Enforcement Officer Victor "Buddy" Amato says. They are between 1 and 3 years old.

The park near Wall Street is right across the street from the Monmouth County SPCA. "They were left in the woods with no water, nothing," Amato says. "They were very dehydrated."

The dogs are currently being cared for at the SPCA. It's unknown how long they were in the woods.

Anyone with information is asked to call Amato.
