Piscataway police show what it takes in the line of duty

PISCATAWAY - The Piscataway police are giving the public a demonstraion of what happens when they are called into to action through their Citizen's Police Academy.

Piscataway Police Chief Rick Ivone says that instead of reading statistics on how much money is being spent, residents might get a better understanding of where the money goes and how it's used.

Lt. Edgar Velasquez says that during the demo, police present a broader picture of their work, rather than what's seen on TV shows or news clips.

Graduates of the academy may also end up helping the department at certain events.
