EDISON - A spokeswoman for Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) says the company is "very pleased" its systems are operating relatively normal following yesterday's storm, as they were expecting much worse.

Karen Johnson says currently, less than 50 PSE&G customers are without power in the state. Conditions will still be monitored throughout Saturday, due to the forecast for heavy winds. Johnson says the biggest situation they faced yesterday was a power outage in Elizabeth because of downed wires, but all the customers have since been restored.

Johnson says PSE&G will possibly be sending crews to New England, where more than 600,000 people are without power. Doing so will depend on if all their customers in New Jersey are taken care of first.
