BAYVILLE - Pelican Island residents hoped to make their voices heard about Snooki and JWOWW moving into their town at a meeting Monday.

Snooki, one of the hard-partying roommates from MTV's "Jersey Shore," is trading life in Seaside Heights to film on the Sandy-ravaged Pelican Island.

Residents say the stars' presence will bring onlookers and traffic problems to the quiet neighborhood. Many voiced their concerns at tonight's city council meeting.

Bill Hogue says he's concerned that his neighborhood will never be the same.

"It's like a plague of locusts coming on the island and it's not going to end when the filming ends," another Pelican Island resident says.

In response to the public's outcry, Snooki tweeted, "Adults are trying to ban my son, fiance and I from enjoying our summer at the shore. Grow up, get over yourself and move on."

Mayor Carmen F. Amato, Jr. has tried to reassure the homeowners. "We've been in contact with the production company. They have agreed to hire police officers for security at no cost for our taxpayers."

Filming is expected to begin within the month and last 30 days at the home on Sunset Drive.
