Pedestrian struck and killed in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN - A pedestrian was hit and killed in Middletown early this morning.

The collision happened at Main Street and Phillips Mills Drive just before 8 a.m. Police say 62-year-old Louis Cristello, of Hazlet, was struck by a car heading east on Main Street near Hunters Pointe. The car that hit him was driven by Marissa Sasso, 23, from Middletown, according to authorities.

Roads in the area were closed around the time of the incident, but have since reopened.
