PALISADES PARK - Parishioners at Saint Nicholas Church in Palisades Park want to know who beheaded a statue of their patron saint.

Father Jeremy, the pastor of the church, said the statue was most likely beheaded late Friday night by a rock.

The pastor woke up on Saturday morning to find the head behind the statue's base, along with the rock that allegedly did the damage.

The statue of Saint Nicholas has been in front of the church since 2008 when it was blessed.

Police are investigating the defacement which happened during the holy season of Lent.
