EDISON - Patrick the dog, who was discovered the day before St. Patrick's Day at the bottom of a trash chute in Newark, continues to recover.

The young pit bull mix was skin and bones when a maintenance worker found him on March 16 and notified authorities.

The dog has been in foster care and has put on about 30 pounds so far. The criminal case against his former owner, Kisha Curtis, is still pending.
