PATERSON - After years of neglect, Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson is getting a financial boost.

The stadium, built in 1932, hasn't been used since the late 1990s. The state recently donated $500,000 toward the renovation of the stadium.

City Councilman Andre Sayegh says a new stadium could be the centerpiece for a larger development project.

The rebuilt stadium would likely be used for high school sports, but the councilman would not rule out a minor league baseball team.
