PATERSON - Residents in Paterson say violence in their neighborhoods is getting worse.

The latest incident was a drive-by triple shooting over the weekend.

Mayor Jeffery Jones says he doesn't know why there have been seemingly more shootings, but he's asking the community to speak up, saying one way to curb violence is to report it.

"Police can't police in the sense of being every place," says Jones. "That's not possible. And yet police have to be able to receive information and work with neighbors."

The mayor says he is also seeking support from federal agencies like the FBI and ATF to help crack down on criminals in his city.
