PATERSON - Hundreds rallied in Paterson in remembrance of a young life lost too soon, and called for an end to the city's violence.

Community members and community leaders want "Justice for Genesis," the 12-year-old girl gunned down while riding her scooter on Saturday.

Genesis Rincon's family stood on the steps of City Hall Tuesday night, sharing their loss with the crowd.

Genesis' father Alexis Rincon and big sister, also named Alexis, who was with her sister when she was shot, were among the speakers.

"Whoever did this has no type of heart," says Genesis' sister. "How can you sleep at night?"

After making their case to the crowd, family members took their pleas to city council members and the mayor. They are pushing for an end to violence, hoping this loss is enough to make it happen.
