PATERSON - Paterson's city council is expected to consider a resolution tomorrow that would ask Gov. Christie to declare a state of emergency for the city.
With more than a dozen homicides so far this year, city officials say something needs to be done to get more officers on the streets.
Paterson has almost 90 fewer cops on the street because of layoffs.
While some council members support the idea, others say they should think of different ways to increase the police's presence on the streets.
