PASSAIC - A police officer is recovering today after being stabbed by a suspect at a housing complex on Monroe Street in Passaic.

According to reports, the man lunged at one of the officers with a knife, stabbing him in the shoulder.

Authorities say the man has had run-ins with police in the past.

The suspect, who was shot in the altercation, is in critical condition.
