PASSAIC - A local group is giving residents in Passaic a first glimpse into what their revitalized city could look like.

"Together North Jersey" has released a sketch of what the city's east side might look like in the future.

Last year, the city council created the Eastside Redevelopment Zone which will transform the area.

The plan would include tearing down an abandoned school building and warehouse, and repaving the streets and sidewalks.

Skeptics like Tina Vasquez say city leaders should focus their attention elsewhere. "I think they need to work on a lot of things in the city.  I don't think this should come first," she says. "I don't think it's the first priority."

The plan also features a park area with tables and chairs and could also include more retail space along Passaic Street.
