EDISON - A pair of Edison first-graders decided it really is better to give than to receive - even on their 7th birthdays.

First-graders Jack Purcell and Lexie Roth each decided, on their own, to give their gifts to children in need.

Jack is donating gifts to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, while Lexie is donating her gifts to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The children's parents say Jack and Lexie came to them with the idea, and organized the 'give-back' party on behalf of the kids.

Reboundz in Edison, who hosted the festivities, also donated gifts for the charities.
