MILLINGTON - Caretakers at the Raptor Trust in Millington named a tiny screech owl Simon. The special needs owl was stolen from the sanctuary.

Caretakers tell News 12 New Jersey that Simon was brought into the sanctuary six years ago after being struck by a car. The owl is challenged, partially blind and needs special care. He could not be completely rehabilitated so he became a permanent resident of the Raptor Trust.

Hundreds of birds of prey are housed and cared for by the Raptor Trust, including bald eagles, a peregrine, and red-tailed hawks.

Now the Raptor trust just wants Simon back, safe and sound and as soon as possible with no questions asked. The trust's biggest fear is that the thief panics and lets Simon go.
