NEWARK - Newark-based Catherine's Closet normally helps outfit teenage girls for their proms that otherwise may not be able to afford dresses, but the organization itself is now in need of some help.

It was occupying a space in Newark for free, but now the building which houses that space was recently sold, and the new owner says the closet has to close.

Catherine's Closet has put nearly 10,000 girls in prom dresses since it began a decade ago.
