TRENTON - One person died and another was seriously hurt after a deadly train accident in Trenton, when a northbound train slammed into a car that was on the tracks at the Lalor Street crossing.

The accident is still under investigation, but NJ Transit says the car crossed into the path of the train against warning signals.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in that car was rushed to the hospital. No one on the train was hurt.

Service has been restored on NJ Transit's River line this morning.
