JACKSON - Officials with the state's Department of Fish and Wildlife are working to save fish from a draining lake in Ocean County.
The water level of Prospertown Lake in Jackson has been dropping steadily since the lake's floodgate collapsed after Hurricane Irene. Officials say the lake lost about a foot of water per day last week.
Officials moved the fish to another pond in the county while water levels at the lake return to normal. They say it could take a year to return to its previous state.
