ENGLEWOOD - Two state senators are moving forward with a plan to extend the Hudson Rail line all the way to Englewood in Bergen County, after a previous proposal to end the line in Tenafly was shot down.

The light rail line would allow riders to go from Bergen County to Hoboken, and there are also plans for a garage and park and ride near the Englewood stop.

Residents tell News 12 New Jersey they support the idea. "Any advancements in public transportation would probably be a good thing," says Brian Paler. "People could get around more."

The entire project would cost about $800 million. State officials are asking the state to waive a requirement for a second environmental study in order to fast-track the project.
