Officials: Man dies in police-involved shooting on Union Ave. in Elizabeth

ELIZABETH - An incident in Elizabeth turned deadly after a man was shot and killed by police during an alleged domestic dispute.

The Hudson County Prosecutors Office said that Elizabeth police responded to a call of a domestic dispute at 351 Union Ave. shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.

The office said that an unidentified man armed with a knife was fatally shot by police on the sidewalk.   

No further details have been released about the incident.

News 12 spoke to a neighbor who said she heard a commotion between a man and a woman and that the argument was followed by the sound of several gunshots a short time later.
