Officials bust alleged Morris County illegal gambling operation

POMPTON PLAINS - Police say they have busted an alleged illegal gambling operation in Morris County.

Officials say undercover investigators targeted two businesses accused of running gambling operations out of strip malls in Pompton Plains and Parsippany.

Investigators raided Connections Internet Cafe, located at a strip mall on Route 23 in Pompton Plains, and arrested four men associated with the business.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor, customers were wagering on computerized or electronic slots.

Police say they also raided a business with the same name on New Road Plaza in Parsippany. Officials say the two investigators seized $60,000 in cash and $100,000 in electronics.
