Officials: Body of missing Hoboken man pulled from Hudson

HOBOKEN - Hoboken police have confirmed that a body pulled from the Hudson River Tuesday afternoon was a Hoboken man missing since Saturday night.

Matthew Genovese, 24, was last seen leaving McSwiggans Pub at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. The pub is located at First Street and Bloomfield Street.

Police say they found his wallet and keys near Pier A Monday night.

The NYPD assisted the Hoboken Police Department with the search Tuesday afternoon. Divers were able to recover Genovese’s body just before 1 p.m.

Police say the body didn't appear to have any signs of trauma. They don't expect foul play.

Authorities are investigating the cause of Genovese’s death.
