Officials believe body found off Asbury Park is missing swimmer

ASBURY PARK - Officials say they believe the body of an Asbury Park swimmer who disappeared was recovered this morning.

Asbury Park Fire Department Inspector Garrett Giberson tells News 12 New Jersey that authorities are confident the body matches the description of Franky Lezin.

Giberson says surfers spotted the body floating in a circle rip tide about 60 to 70 yards off the city's casino.

The 23-year-old was last seen swimming about two blocks south after lifeguards went off duty Tuesday night.

Officials suspended their search on Wednesday because of rough water conditions generated by Hurricane Earl.
