JERSEY CITY - Police officers in Jersey City gathered Friday evening to remember two officers killed 10 years ago on Christmas.

Officers Shawn Carson and Robert Nguyen were killed while placing flares on the Lincoln Highway Bridge to alert drivers to a broken wooden traffic arm in 2005.

They were unaware that the drawbridge had been raised on the foggy night, and their truck plunged into the Hackensack River.

The bridge was renamed after Officers Nguyen and Carson in 2007.
