BAYONNE - Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith confirms a police officer shot an armed man late this evening in a standoff at a trailer park.

The incident happened at 194 West 24th St. in Bayonne. Hudson County Prosecutor Ed DeFazio says the suspect barricaded himself inside the house. Officers say they entered the house and found the suspect armed, so they opened fire. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. The identity of the suspect has not been released.
