TOMS RIVER - A Toms River man is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-month-old boy and streaming video of the assault over the Internet.

Federal prosecutors say Rodford Brindley Jr. streamed the images with a webcam during an online chat with law enforcement authorities in Ohio. Authorities had engaged in online chats with Brindley as part of an investigation they were conducting.

During a chat last month, they say the 67-year-old began sexually assaulting the toddler and used a webcam to record it and stream it over the Internet.

Brindley faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
