PISCATAWAY (AP) - Paralyzed former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand says President Barack Obama told that his story is very inspiring and he should keep up the good work.

LeGrand told MyCentralJersey.com that he met with Obama briefly at High Point Solutions Stadium before the president spoke at Rutgers' graduation Sunday.

He says that the meeting was "insane" and that he was in shock when the president told him he knew of his story.

LeGrand has championed spinal cord research since suffering a paralyzing injury during a 2010 game.

He spoke himself to fellow graduates in 2014, telling them that anything is possible.
