EDISON - President Barack Obama announced today his plan to help active members of the military and veterans who own homes.

In today's news conference, Obama's first full news conference of 2012, the president pledged that he will use part of last month's government settlement with mortgage leaders to compensate veterans who endured wrongful foreclosure on their homes.

Obama also addressed criticisms from candidates on the Republican campaign trail regarding his relationships with Iran and Israel. Obama says they don't have the same responsibilities he has, saying "they are not commander-in-chief."
