ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS - The building of the new headquarters for electronics giant LG has brought opposition from both sides of the Hudson.

The proposed office building in Englewood Cliffs would sit along Route 9W, overlooking the Hudson River. The building will be eight stories at its tallest, which critics say will spoil the view of Palisades cliffs.

New York lawmakers are now calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to put pressure on Gov. Chris Christie to stop the project. That's something, as of late July, Christie had no intention of doing.

Local residents and environmental groups have tried in court to block the construction of the building. Last week, a judge ruled in favor of LG, allowing it to move forward.

New York lawmakers have reportedly said they're prepared to spearhead a nationwide boycott of LG products. LG says it is not concerned about the threats.

Demolition on the current building is expected to start later this year.
