Northern NJ swimmers vie for chance at national competition

GLEN ROCK - Swimmers at the Wycoff Family YMCA are trying out for a shot to compete in a national swimming competition.

Many of the kids, between ages 9 to 18, arrive at the Olympic-sized pool at around 5:15 a.m. five days a week to practice. There are 190 swimmers in the program.

Program officials say 41 swimmers will compete in the YMCA Long Course Nationals at Georgia Tech University later this month.
