OAKLAND - Police in several northern New Jersey towns are looking for a purse snatcher that they believe has struck seven times.

According to police, the purse snatcher has hit parking lots in Clifton, Lodi, Kearny and Bloomfield where he leans out and grabs purses while driving.

Officials have released images of the car they say may be involved. It is described as a blue Hyundai Santa Fe with tinted windows in the back. Police say the vehicle also has front-end damage and no front license plate.

Kearny police say they are also investigating two additional purse snatchings where witnesses say a black male pulled up in a small white car to grab the victims' purses. It is unknown if those incidents are linked to the larger string of purse snatchings.

Anyone with information is asked to call their local police department.
