NEWARK - The northern half of New Jersey experienced some poor weather conditions during Saturday’s snowstorm.
Many other northern counties were reporting much more snowfall than meteorologists were originally predicting.
By Saturday afternoon, Newark reported just about 16 inches of snow. The city was originally supposed to only see about 6 to 8 inches.
Broad Street near Newark City Hall was mostly desolate Saturday. There were several reports of vehicles getting stuck in the snow as drivers attempted to move about the city.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka issued a travel ban for the cities. Only emergency vehicles were allowed out for the rest of the day.
