Northbound lanes of Pulaski Skyway to close Saturday; DOT says expect delays

EDISON - The closure to the northbound lanes of Pulaski Skyway will begin Saturday and remain in effect for two years.

The Department of Transportation warns that it is still anticipating heavy delays, so drivers should leave lots of additional time for their commute.

Route alternatives include northbound truck route 1 & 9, where the lights have been retimed to keep traffic moving more smoothly, and the eastbound Hudson County extension of the turnpike where the right shoulder is opened to a regular travel lane during peak travel times.

NJ Transit has also added an extra train to the North Jersey Coast line and additional rail cars to support an expected increase in ridership.
