TRENTON - Some public swimming pools in North Trenton have still not been opened, and officials are citing budgetary problems.

Local residents say that the lack of a public space for youths during the hot summer months creates a recipe for troublemaking.

Management of the city's pools was recently turned over to the mayor's office. Mayor Tony Mack has not yet returned a request for comment.

There is no word yet on when the rest of the pools will open.
