NORTH BRUNSWICK - A North Brunswick family is grieving the loss of a beloved brother and uncle. James Hunter is the latest victim to be hit and killed by an oncoming car in just the past two weeks in the town.

Both fatal accidents happened as the victims attempted to cross Route 130 by foot.

Family members say Hunter was hit and killed Tuesday night at around 7:30 p.m. They say he was crossing the road when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.

The death has been ruled accidental by North Brunswick police and the driver has not been charged.

Hunter's death is the second fatal pedestrian accident in just two weeks on that road. Only 13 days ago, another man was hit and killed just two miles south on Route 130 at Renaissance Road.

That case was also determined to be accidental.

Hunter's neighbors say they want help from the township. They recommend installing a well-lit crosswalk or pedestrian bridge so people can safely cross Route 130.
