CAMP OSBORNE - Barrier Island residents of Normandy Beach and Camp Osborne are in disbelief at the devastation Sandy left in their communities.

Homeowners were permitted back onto the Barrier Islands yesterday. As many as 60 houses burned down, while vehicles stuck in the sand were left covered by dirt and debris.

Residents were permitted in briefly to gather belongings and survey their properties.
