SEASIDE PARK - A nonprofit group is using Christmas trees to use to help the environment.
The nonprofit organization Shifting Sands takes donated Christmas trees from Secaucus and covers them with sand to help build up dunes on Ocean County beaches.
"It helps erosion control, stops the sand from moving off the dunes and it's a good supplement," says the organization's founder, Dominick Solazzo.
