BLOOMFIELD - Bloomfield firefighters and Navy sailors in training helped a nonprofit group help a disabled army veteran with a big move Friday.

Hope for the Warriors organized the move for Len Lacina. Lacina had plenty of help packing up his home in South Amboy and moving into a new apartment in Bloomfield.

Lacina couldn't heap enough praise on the organization that made it happen. They had him packed up and out of his old house in an hour.

Hope for the Warriors provides combat wounded veterans with transitional and financial assistance. The organization was started in 2006 by a group of wives married to Marines.
