FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - A bomb threat that forced the evacuation of a Monmouth County movie theater was determined to be a false alarm.

This is the second time this week that the AMC Theater at the Freehold Raceway Mall was evacuated after bomb threat notes were found in the men’s restroom.

The theater was evacuated around 11:30 a.m. Friday as many patrons flocked to the location to see the new “Star Wars” film.

Moviegoers were allowed to return into the theater just after 1 p.m. after police checked the building. No credible threats or explosives were found at the scene.

A similar incident occurred Monday night at the theater. Threatening notes were found in the men’s restroom in that incident also.

Authorities have not yet announced if the two incidents are related or if there are any suspects.
