EDISON - No charges will be filed against the New Brunswick fire official who struck three kids with his city-owned SUV, sending them to the hospital.

Rawls hit the children last week as they crossed Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick.

Police say an investigation determined that while Fire Director Robert Rawls was at fault for the accident, no actions were deemed criminal.

Rawls was issued two traffic tickets for careless driving and failure to stop for pedestrians.

Rawls had 18 other accidents on his record, according to Motor Vehicle Commission record information obtained by News 12 New Jersey.
